Kara Travisono graduated from New England Institute of Technology in Warwick RI in May of 2008. She has received the Excellence in Design Faculty Award at New England Tech for her senior thesis project in commercial restaurant/nightclub design in May of 2008. Kara has also appeared in New England Institute of Technology’s commercial in 2006 as a student in the interior design program. Shortly after graduation she has designed and drawn building plans for Two 9 Five Lounge located on Atwells Avenue, RI.
In June of 2009 Kara was hired at Cardi’s Furniture as a home furnishings sales consultant. Within just a few months she has moved forward within the Cardi’s corporation and now works at the RI Design Center/Thomasville Home Furnishings as an interior designer/sales associate.
Kara is highly capable and skilled in space planning, measuring existing spaces and creating building plans, selecting furniture, materials, fabrics and paint colors as well as specifying lighting and accessories. Kara’s passion lies in commercial interior design where space-planning plays an extreme important role, but is just as enthused to work with a homeowner with space planning, laying out the furniture in a home, selecting the furniture, fabrics, materials and colors as well as specifying custom window treatments.
